Guide and tips on how to learn mathematics and solve problems quickly
Almost all children have problems when asked to solve math problems. The problems usually occur when students fail to identify related information. Many of the math problems are multi-step and require some sort of systematic approach. So the key to solving math problems is the development of a plan or strategy that works on any problem math word solving situation. The below are the tips and guide for you to follow:
1. Read the entire problem first and ask yourself exactly what type of information is being asked. After determining all the information given to you in the question. Since word problems usually contain additional and unnecessary information, you should try to look for clues and important information and then write, underline, or highlight the tracks or related information. Thus, the problem will become more clear to you. Some keywords are so follofws tracks:
a. Plus: sum, total, how many all together, and in all.
b. Subtraction: difference, how much more, left many, and overcome.
c. Multiplication: product, total, area, and the times of
d. Division: sharing, distributing, ratio, and average.
2. Find all the variables or values in the problem. This will help you obtain information related to the problem and keep you focused. It can also help you make the decision on which equation to use.
3. Is the question be answered in the problem. Often the question is directly stated. When it is said, will have to identify the question to be answered.
4. Enter data needed to answer the question. It is helpful to cross out all the facts. Sometimes, all the facts in the problem are needed to answer the question.
5. Ask yourself what calculations do I answer the question.
6. Setting the problem on paper and do the calculations. Calculations for accuracy and make any necessary corrections. Once you have done this work the problem upside down or backward, beginning with the response to see if you may end up with the original problem.
7. Look at your response and ask yourself: Is my answer be? You may find that your answer is not possible because it does not fit the facts presented in the problem. When this happens, go back through the steps to reach an answer that is possible.
8. The latest advice is that if you become stuck on a problem, jump and return to it later. Sometimes having a short break will allow you to restart the process of thinking and approach the problem from a different angle.
In conclusion, the development of a plan soloving problem is very important, but to gain further math problem solving skills, you need to do more practice and take notes of the key points of their practice.
