One of the most powerful tools for everyday use is Microsoft Visio to make plans, drawings, flowcharts, network diagrams, etc. Could this online application web 2.0 application to replace Visio or similar? Now there might be a solution on the web called Gliffy.
Gliffy is a free service based diagram editor. Being considered as the murderer of Visio online. The client application is built using OpenLaszlo.

Gliffy is a great tool that makes it easy to create, share and collaborate on a wide range of diagrams. Gliffy is an online service that helps diagrams users to communicate with a combination of shapes, text and lines.
You will need to register to start drawing. Once your account is set to be be asked to enter a document name. The next screen is the design space can work with. Gliffy trust the Flash plugin to be installed in your browser.

There are over 100 objects (symbols) available in the library of forms, including networking, UML, user interface, process flow, entity relationship, plans, and basic shapes. You just drag and drop for this library.
You can import an image of your diagram in another document on a desktop or an online application. Diagrams can be stored online and can also be exported in JPEG, SVG, and PNG.

Share and Collaborate
Specifying addresses e-mail, a user can add collaborators to your diagram. The collaboration allows others to view and edit your work, simply by entering your address e-mail.
You can also publish your diagrams as pictures or diagrams embedded URL and as dynamic content in your blog or page web.
I Gliffy to create a flowchart quite long. These are the issues that face it --
1) no auto-fit text in a decision box.If the text was on the edge of the box, press ENTER when you finish writing the text, seems to push further.
2) My flow chart is left of the page, and I wanted to add some additional steps in the flowchart at the beginning, so in essence, wanted to spend the rest of the flowchart for the pages. Trying to accomplish this was a nightmare, the book does not work when trying to click and drag with the mouse. The only way was to select all and then try to use the "arrow" to move down. Even this was done at a snail's pace, and eventually decided it would be faster to do it again and copy the pictures I needed.
There are other bits and pieces with the tool, I did not very easy to use to create flowcharts that are long and can might need to change.
